Setting up a bounce server is ONLY required when using "SMTP-based" delivery servers. Deploia supports a "list of email delivery service providers" (e.g., Sendgrid, Mailgun). API-based delivery servers automatically receive bounce and other such events via webhook and automatically update your Deploia account. You DO NOT need to set up a bounce server in this instance.

When setting up a bounce server, it's crucial to use a dedicated email address solely for handling bounced emails. This address should not be used for any other purpose, as the system will automatically read and delete all emails from this account after processing.

Be aware that some SMTP servers require the bounce address to match the sending address for authentication. In such cases, you must use the same account for both sending emails and handling bounces. Proper configuration is essential for accurate bounce handling, as incorrect setup could lead to loss of important emails or inaccurate processing.

  1. Go to "Servers" --> "Bounce Servers" --> "Create new" from the sidebar menu

  2. Fill out the required details and hit "Save changes"

Remember to update your delivery server. Navigate to your SMTP-based delivery server and type the "Name" you have given your new bounce server. This will ensure the delivery server and the respective bounce server are linked, and that your email campaign bounces are processed smoothly.
