Suppose you have multiple lists (e.g. current customers, past customers, potential customers), and you have a sale you are running in the upcoming month. You need to email the campaign about the upcoming sale to all these three lists. Here's how you do it.
1) Create a new send group
Start by navigating to "Campaigns" -> "Send groups" from the sidebar menu. Then click on "Create new" and give it a name that you can recognise.
2) Create your first email campaign
During the first step of the campaign creation process, type the Send group name you have created in step one. As you type, the suggestions will populate of all the send groups you have created.
One easy way to manage this is to use a date or month as part of your send group naming strategy. It will be easier to remember that your intention was to send only one email campaign to any given subscriber belonging to that same group.
3) Create your second email campaign
Repeat step two for all your consecutive email campaigns, but make sure to specify the same send group as your first campaign. Deploia will check to see if there are subscribers on your second mailing list that match with your first. If they do, it suppresses that email so that subscriber doesn't end up getting a second copy of that campaign.
An easy way to create multiple campaigns is by using the "Copy" function. Click on the "Settings" icon and choose "Copy". It will duplicate the campaign for you. Change the mailing list to your desired one and ensure the send group is the same as the one you used in your previous campaigns.
How it works?
-
You create a new send group "xyz"
-
You send "campaign A" to a defined list/segment and choose send group "xyz"
-
You send "campaign B" to another list/segment and choose send group "xyz"
-
Campaign B automatically goes to everyone on that list/segment except those in Campaign A's list/segment
Notes- You can do this for as many email campaigns as you like, as long as you specify the same send group. Using this method, you can send the same campaign to multiple lists without sending multiple copies to the same set of subscribers.
-
In addition to sending campaigns to as many lists and segments as necessary, you can also edit each copy of the campaign and change its attributes, such as subject, content, etc., to test the inboxing rate, all without having to worry about email addresses that are part of multiple lists receiving duplicate campaigns.
-
One other advantage is that campaigns can be added to sending groups at any point, even weeks or months after the campaign was first sent to a sending group.
