We have finally added one of the long-requested features—the ability to warm up ANY delivery server from ANY provider. If you are unsure how it works, here's an excellent IP warmup guide.
Background
The process of delivery server warming involves gradually establishing a favourable reputation with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) as a legitimate email sender. ISPs meticulously examine the volume and patterns of sent messages, closely monitoring email traffic from new or recently inactive IP addresses.
ISP spam filters regard email volume as a critical indicator of potential spam activity. To avoid being flagged as a spammer, commencing with a low to moderate sending volume and progressively increasing it over time is advisable. This method enables email providers to evaluate your email-sending practices and how recipients engage with them comprehensively.
Reputation systems typically retain data for a maximum of 30 days. So, it is very important to send an email from any given IP address at least once during this time. The warming process must be restarted if the 30-day interval without activity is exceeded. This is why the conventional recommendation for preheating a delivery server is 30 days.
How it works?
-
Define and activate your Warmup Plans.
-
Attach them to your delivery server and watch them as they progress.
-
Our internal job handler sets the delivery server quota hourly based on the Warmup Plan settings.
-
For consistency, once the Warmup Plans are active, they cannot be fully edited anymore. We allow editing of the name and the description.
How to set it up?
-
Go to "Servers" --> "Warmup Plans" --> "Create new" from the sidebar menu
-
Fill in the details and hit "Save changes"
Options
-
Name - The identifier for your email warm-up plan.
-
Sendings count - The number of sending batches or intervals in your warm-up plan.
- Maximum values depend on the quota type: 720 for hourly, 30 for daily, or 1 for monthly.
-
Sending limit - The maximum number of emails that can be sent by the end of the warm-up period.
-
Sending limit type - Determines how the limit is applied:
-
Total: Evenly distributes the quota across all sendings.
-
Targeted: Progressively increases the quota with each sending.
-
-
Sending quota type - Sets the time frame for quota calculations:
-
Hourly: Quota is set per hour.
-
Daily: Quota is set per day (divided by 24 for hourly rate).
-
-
Sending strategy - Defines how the sending quota increases:
-
Linear: Consistent growth rate throughout the plan.
-
Exponential: Accelerating growth rate requires setting an increment percentage.
-
-
Sending increment percentage - Used only for Exponential strategy.
-
Determines the rate of quota increase between sendings.
-
Description - A field for additional notes or details about your warm-up plan.
We have provided a table with the quotas and increments for each sending batch, along with a graph, to help you better understand the schedule for the Warmup Plan.
Notes
-
A Warmup Plan can be used for more than one delivery server.
-
Once the plan for a delivery server is completed, the server quota will be removed.
-
Even if the delivery server sends less than the quota, the system will advance to the next schedule only after the quota is completed.
-
If the sending is paused for a period, the system will resume from the same point it was when it was paused.
-
If we delete a Warmup Plan and that plan is attached to a delivery server, the server quota needs to be adjusted manually afterwards.
Switching between plans when they are in processing mode is not advised. It would be best to let the Warmup Plan finish all the generated schedules. If you switch, the current plan will freeze and resume if you use it again with this delivery server.
